Adlington Makes a Splash with 4-year-old Swimming Superstar

Double Olympic Gold medalist and newly crowned World Champion Rebecca Adlington has taken time out today at the British Gas Big Dip on Clapham Common with her real life ‘mini-me’, 4-year-old swimming sensation Tae Smith. Tae stunned the swimming world last month when she swam an incredible 101 lengths non-stop.

The British Gas Big Dip, Manchester 2011 – Official Statement from Total Swimming

We are unfortunately unable to bring the British Gas Big Dip to Manchester this year due to technical challenges with the site. We are disappointed, particularly after the hugely successful delivery of the British Gas Pools 4 Schools programme in Salford in March, where 800 children from 15 schools were taught to swim for free in a temporary pool built by Total Swimming. We look forward to bringing more community swimming opportunities to the North West in the future.

We are pleased that the British Gas Big Dip, London on Clapham Common could be extended until 7th August, due to popular demand.

Celebrities and Olympic Athletes Team Up To Support Speedo’s Swim Amnesty in aid of Cancer Research UK

Britain’s Olympic hopefuls and a host of TV personalities have teamed up to support Speedo’s Swim Amnesty to raise funds for Cancer Research UK. All Athletes and TV personalities will all be donating their swimming costumes to inspire the nation to follow suit and for each tonne of swimwear and goggles donated, Speedo will donate £1,000 to Cancer Research UK.

Speedo Launches ‘Swim It To Win It’ Challenge at The British Gas Big Dip

This summer at the British Gas Big Dip on Clapham Common, London, Speedo has been busy creating a fantastic fun fueled challenge for all the family.

Speedo’s Swim It To Win It Challenge – a pool-based obstacle course offers the most fun you can have in the pool. ‘Swim It To Win It’ will commence on Saturday 3 July 2011 and close on 10 July 2011 at Clapham Common, in London. This challenge is part of the British Gas Big Dip; the UK’s ultimate urban swim festival that promises a fun, swim-based day out for all the family. The UK’s ultimate urban swim festival will be on Clapham Common, London until 7th August 2011.
